Collaborative Zine Project
During my Honours year, I took part in a collaborative illustration based Zine with my peers. Inspired by the idea of inktober, we used a prompting system where we selected a few words each to influence our illustrations.
Within these illustrations, I wanted to create some full bleed, highly detailed pieces that would evoke high levels of curiosity, prompting the idea of part of a story. I wanted this to further allow the viewer to use their own imagination to decide what they think is happening in the images.
For a cohesive style, as a group, we decided on creating monochromatic illustrations, to create a rainbow effect when flipping through the completed Zine.
The Communication Design Illustration Zine 2023 will be available for purchase at the degree show.
As part of the idea of creating a single illustration that prompts part of a story, I have mocked up the illustrations as storytelling cards. These would be used to evoke conversation and discussion of the illustration for children in their studies helping them to gain high visual literacy skills.
